Just came across this on stumble upon and thought it was really cool!
This is called Still Life and is done by Sam Taylor Wood. I found this really interesting not only because it relates to my work but because of what it stands for and how it was created.
These are the two pieces that inspired me to create a piece of mold, I can't find the website I found them from so can't remember the names but they're done by Rachel Harrison and Dieter Roth.

Photographs
Here are some of the photographs I took of the mold piece.
This is a painting I did looking at a section of the piece. It didn't turn out the way I wanted it to.
Here are some textures I have been looking at that are influenced by molds.
<-- I did this by chopping up a few corks, sticking them down, and painting them with acrylic.
I found a plastic food container that had a circular pattern on the bottom. I painted half the page in very thick acrylic, pressed the plastic into it, and printed it onto the other half of the page. You can feel the texture of the paint on the left hand side and see the pattern the plastic left. -->
<--This is melted acetate. I painted the page with watercolours, melted the acetate by holding it over the fire, and squeezed it into the shape I wanted. I then dropped drops of watercolours on top.

1st December
I can't believe it's December already! The weeks have flown. I have moved on quite a lot from the literary sense of the fridge, I had gotten pretty bored of it! I attempted to make a plastic and wire fridge structure but failed. I also did some more work with acetate, sewing thread into the shapes of the different objects.

Layered up.. shows the traces of the movement.
Instead of turning the fridge concept 3D, which was not working for me at all.. I decided to explore a sculptural concept of mold. I found an artist that has explored this before, Rachel Harrison, and was inspired by her work. This lead me to working with plaster.
I made the structure out of cardboard and wrapped it in materials. I then poured the plaster over and when it was dry I painted it with watery acrylic.
I did two. The second one turned out a lot better because I got the effect of the mold.
