Photographs

Here are some of the photographs I took of the mold piece.

This is a painting I did looking at a section of the piece. It didn't turn out the way I wanted it to.

Here are some textures I have been looking at that are influenced by molds.

<-- I did this by chopping up a few corks, sticking them down, and painting them with acrylic.
I found a plastic food container that had a circular pattern on the bottom. I painted half the page in very thick acrylic, pressed the plastic into it, and printed it onto the other half of the page. You can feel the texture of the paint on the left hand side and see the pattern the plastic left. -->

<--This is melted acetate. I painted the page with watercolours, melted the acetate by holding it over the fire, and squeezed it into the shape I wanted. I then dropped drops of watercolours on top.

After making the plaster molds I realised that a very effective texture could be made by pouring plaster over a fleecy or fluffy material. I did this here and then stretched the material so that the plaster cracked. I painted it with watery acrylic paint. -->
