1st December

I can't believe it's December already! The weeks have flown. I have moved on quite a lot from the literary sense of the fridge, I had gotten pretty bored of it! I attempted to make a plastic and wire fridge structure but failed. I also did some more work with acetate, sewing thread into the shapes of the different objects.

Layered up.. shows the traces of the movement.

Instead of turning the fridge concept 3D, which was not working for me at all..  I decided to explore a sculptural concept of mold. I found an artist that has explored this before, Rachel Harrison, and was inspired by her work. This lead me to working with plaster.

I made the structure out of cardboard and wrapped it in materials. I then poured the plaster over and when it was dry I painted it with watery acrylic.

I did two. The second one turned out a lot better because I got the effect of the mold.
