Today I went to a talk by Des about Print Making. I hated print in school but I found this really cool and can't wait to try it out now, especially the acitate type.

18th October
Last Thursday we went see the Dublin Contemporary 2011 Exhibition. I found it really interesting and it really opened my mind to what art can be. I liked Vera Klute's drawing of the Public Pool. The main exhibition was in an old school so there were over one hundred little rooms with installations in each. These were really different and inspiring works. We spent the rest of the day going to smaller galleries around Dublin, including Sean Scully's gallery.

I started a painting yesterday, it's A1 size and taking me a long time but I think it's going well so far. The idea is that on the left there is a fridge full of food and it gradually moves and empties to the right where very little remains. Between each section I'm going to blur the food so that it melts and fades into the next.
I have been doing small pen drawings of the contents of my fridge each day and I now have about twenty. I'm not sure whether I'll make a flick book out of them or stick them onto black paper in a grid format yet.
